Under the hood

Every tool and service I use to make and run this fan page - from the code and the collages to the jukebox and the visitor counter.

Building the site

Where the pages are made, stored and put online.

  • Lovable ↗

Builds, hosts and publishes the whole site, and keeps the newsletter sign-ups, guestbook notes and interview suggestions in its built-in database (Lovable Cloud).

  • Claude ↗

My co-pilot for everything behind the scenes: writes the code, researches every name and place, checks the links, transcribes the episodes and builds the reference sheets.

  • GitHub ↗

Stores the site's code; every change syncs straight into Lovable.

  • Archivo Black, IBM Plex Mono and Special Elite ↗

The flyer fonts - headlines (Archivo Black), the typewriter text everywhere (Special Elite), and timestamps and small data (IBM Plex Mono). Open licences (SIL OFL and Apache), served from this site, not from a font service.

  • Covered By Your Grace ↗

The pink pencil handwriting of the guest quotes on the Afterparty page - an invented hand, not the guests' own. Open licence (SIL OFL), served from this site, not from a font service.

  • VT323 ↗

The pixel font in the Wardrobe's Clueless Style - open licence (SIL OFL), served from this site, not from a font service.

  • React, TanStack and Tailwind ↗

The open-source building blocks the pages are written in.

Pictures and design

All artwork is original - no footage or photos from the show.

Listening and watching

Nothing is hosted here - every play goes straight to the show's own sources.

Maps, books and facts

Where the extra detail on the cards comes from.

Transcripts

Used only to build the references - the transcripts are never published.

  • sherpa-onnx ↗

Open-source speech recognition that turns each episode into a timestamped transcript, speaker by speaker.

  • Microsoft Word ↗

Its built-in transcription, for some of the early episodes.

Counting visits without tracking you, and helping people find the site.

  • Web3Forms ↗

Delivers contact-form messages and alerts about new "Who to interview next" suggestions and guestbook notes to my inbox.

  • Forward Email ↗

Passes on emails sent to hello@nightfever-afterparty.com to my own inbox, without keeping them.

  • GoatCounter ↗

Counts page visits without cookies or personal data.

  • Google Search Console ↗

Tells Google which pages exist so they show up in search.

  • Bing Webmaster Tools ↗

Does the same for Bing (and the search engines that use it, like DuckDuckGo).

  • IndexNow ↗

Tells Bing and other search engines straight away when a page is new or has changed - just the page addresses, nothing about visitors.

  • Tipeee ↗

Takes tips for the fan page - the tip box in the footer is a plain link to my Tipeee page, which handles the payment (cards through Adyen in the Netherlands, or PayPal).
